ComCom Launches the Digital Support Programme in Baghdati

The Communications Commission has launched the Digital Support Programme in the Municipality of Baghdati. Within the framework of the project, the Commission organised an informational meeting at Baghdati Town Hall, which was attended by representatives of the local government, administration and resource centre. During the meeting ComCom representatives provided the participants with detailed information about the programme.

As part of the Digital Support Programme, residents of the target settlements in Baghdati will be able to receive free training in digital literacy and safe use of the internet, and learn about important issues such as finding the desired information online, using Google applications and social platforms, etc. Participants will also be issued with a certificate. The target settlements in the Municipality of Baghdati are: Dimi, Khani, Kveda Zegani, Rokhi, Saimedo, Sakraula, Vartsikhe, and Zeda Zegani. As part of the Digital Support Programme, more than 8,800 citizens from different regions in Georgia have been trained in digital literacy, safe use of the internet and the use of state electronic services since 2022.

The Digital Support Programme is part of the Log-in Georgia project, which is co-funded by the World Bank and the European Investment Bank. It is being implemented to support the Georgian State Internetization Programme. The project aims to provide around 500,000 people in rural settlements in Georgia with access to affordable high-quality internet services, as well as to help develop digital skills and facilitate the use of digital services.
