ComCom Media Academy Holds a Seminar for Journalists by Rusudan Gorgiladze

The Media Academy of the Communications Commission has held a seminar for journalists and journalism students on the subject of “Propaganda Methods: Georgia in German-Language Media.” The meeting was chaired by psychologist Rusudan Gorgiladze – a doctoral candidate at the University of Hildesheim and Regional Director for Eastern Europe at the Harvard Alumni Association, who was also a research fellow at the Harvard University Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and part of the state delegation working on EU-Georgia partnership and cooperation.

The seminar discussed propaganda methods based on materials published about Georgia in German-language media. Participants also got acquainted with various examples of disinformation or distorted information, and the consequences that followed the dissemination of such information. At the end of the seminar, participants were issued with a certificate.

For more than four years, the Media Academy has been offering seminars and other qualification-enhancing activities to media representatives and persons interested in this field.
