ComCom Media Lab Announces 10th Edition of Startup Idea Contest
The Media Lab of the Communications Commission has announced the 10th edition of the startup idea contest Ideadrome – a one-week acceleration programme that aims to discover digital entrepreneurs, improve their ideas and help transform them into products. Startuppers operating in the fields of digital communications, artificial intelligence, cyber security, protection from fake news and information accessibility can take part in Ideadrome.
Teams applying to take part in the contest must be composed of up to three adult participants. Five outstanding teams will be selected from the applicants and will undergo a week-long intensive learning programme. The working meetings will be chaired by leading industry specialists, who will share their knowledge and experience with the participants. During the week, startuppers will study such important issues as idea validation, prototyping, creating a business model, team management, solving financial or legal issues necessary for a startup, and presenting the idea to investors. The programme offers participants both theoretical knowledge and practical skills that are vital for a startup to succeed in a real business environment. At the end of the week, the winning teams will be chosen and will share the GEL 10,000 prize fund.
Applicants must register and prepare a 1-minute video presentation where they present their idea or product. Deadline for registration is 8 May. Training will take place between 12 and 17 May.
The Media Lab has already held 9 successful editions of Ideadrome. Previous participants of the contest have already managed to realise their ideas and take their products to the international market.
