ComCom Media Lab Holds the 2nd Cybersecurity Forum “Tech Trek”
The Media Lab of the Communications Commission and the Scientific Cybersecurity Association held the second cybersecurity forum Tech Trek, which served to strengthen the positions of startups and tech companies in the field of cybersecurity and raise the awareness of their representatives in this area. The main topic of this year's event was artificial intelligence.
During the event, cybersecurity researcher and PhD in information technology Giorgi Akhalaia held a presentation titled “The New Reality of Digital Habits – Artificial Intelligence: Convenience or Threat,” which discussed how we share data with technologies on a daily basis, where and how our data is processed, as well as the digital habits that could become a threat at any time.
The meeting also featured a presentation on “Security of Artificial Intelligence Systems,” delivered by Maxim Yavitch, corresponding member of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, President and Professor of the Scientific Cybersecurity Association. The presentation touched on important issues such as cyberattacks on AI models, threats of generative AI, risks of data privacy breaches, and modern defense mechanisms.
In addition, Vice-President of the Scientific Cybersecurity Association, Doctor of Public Administration and Chairman of the Board of the Internet Development Initiative, Vladimer Svanadze, gave a presentation titled “Artificial Intelligence for Cybersecurity and Cybersecurity for Artificial Intelligence,” which touched on the support of AI systems in cybersecurity, as well as system reliability, sustainability and response. The conversation was also devoted to deepfake, three categories of machine learning algorithms, and the classification of types of cyber threats.
As part of the meeting, a question-and-answer session was held after the speakers' presentations, where participants were able to ask questions to leading industry professionals about the issues of interest to them.
