ComCom Media Lab Holds the Ideadrome Contest for Digital Media Startups

The Media Lab of the Communications commission has held the 9th edition of the startup contest Ideadrome. The winners received cash prizes of GEL 5000, GEL 2000 and GEL 1000 each. The goal of the contest was to discover startups in the field of digital media, improve their products, develop them, and facilitate their establishment on the market.

The first place went to the PixelVision project, which helps people with vision problems improve their vision with the help of a specially designed video game.

The second place was taken by Severity AI, which is a tool for analysing inefficient logic in software code. It detects and fixes flaws that put a project at risk of cyberattack.

The other teams shared the third place and the remaining prize fund. They include Artttify – a platform that uses AR filters to create gamified campaigns for B2C brands, allowing them to launch generated campaigns on the same platform and reward users for participation; StayMate – a digital concierge for hotels that provides 24/7 personalised service, reduces costs and improves guest experience; and Doer – a web platform where people starting out in the technology industry connect with each other, divide into so-called scrum teams and work on various startup projects to gain practical experience.

As part of “Ideadrome,” participating startuppers underwent five-day intensive training, where they learned with the help of professional mentors how to improve their product, find customers, create a profitable business model and establish themselves on the market. Furthermore, each participant had the opportunity to consult industry professionals about various topics of interest.

The themes of the ninth edition of Ideadrome were simplifying communication in the digital space, educational gaming, protection against fake news, and access to information. Participation was open only to the startups that had already created the initial version of their product and wished to move to the next stage. Many of the past participants of Ideadrome have already managed to take their products to the international market.
