ComCom Member Ani Vazagashvili Takes Part in a Meeting on Protecting Minors in Digital Media

Member of the Communications Commission Ani Vazagashvili took part in the 64th meeting of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA), which focussed on protecting children and young people in digital media.

During the thematic session, participants discussed the current situation and challenges related to protecting minors in the online environment. Particular attention was paid to the legal challenges associated with introducing age restrictions and bans on social media use, as well as to the development and implementation of effective regulatory strategies in a rapidly evolving media environment.

Exchanging international experience on these issues enables regulatory authorities to learn about different approaches to protecting children and young people online. For the Communications Commission, strengthening cooperation with European counterparts and sharing best practices on protecting minors in the digital environment remains a matter of priority.

The 64th EPRA meeting aimed to provide a platform for member regulatory authorities and permanent observers to discuss developments and challenges in the audiovisual sector and exchange experience.
