ComCom member Ekaterine Imedadze took part in the international business forum on innovations organised by the Kutaisi International University (KIU), where she talked about the Commission’s role in the development of digital technologies. The main theme of the forum was “Digital Transformation: A New Vision of Education for the Future.” The goal of the event was to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the education sector. 

The forum included panel discussions on the role of digital technologies. Ekaterine Imedadze highlighted the challenges and opportunities created by the new digital reality: “The Communications Commission, as an expert in the field, works on projects and initiatives that promote the introduction of innovative communications services in the country and the development of digital technologies in general. At the same time, the role of educational institutions is important for the country to be able to utilise the potential of the digital economy and hold a sustainable position on international scale. In the era of digital transformation, we need a new generation of professionals who will study the modern tech models, create innovative communication products and introduce new business models on the market, as modern communications business is based on open market principles.” 

Within the framework of the forum, guest experts from different countries held presentations, panel discussions and workshops together with their Georgian colleagues. They also discussed the importance of a sustainable digital ecosystem for the country's economic growth. 

The forum, which brings together representatives of the government, business sector, universities, local and international organisations and diplomatic missions, is organised by KIU in partnership with TUM International.
