ComCom Member Takes Part in 2025 Leaders’ Summit

Member of the Communications Commission Ekaterine Imedadze attended the 2025 Leaders’ Summit held in Dubai, where she participated in the G20 format discussion dedicated to increasing monetisation opportunities through artificial intelligence and 5G, creating an inclusive telecommunications environment, and discussing the development of innovative business models based on digital services. During the meeting, Ms. Imedadze reviewed the latest developments in the Georgian telecom sector and highlighted ComCom's efforts and progress in implementing 5G and digital transformation. 

In addition, Ekaterine Imedadze took part in roundtable discussions on important topics such as the role of regulators in implementing the telecom infrastructure and innovative telecom services; 5G development strategy and preparation for the new 6G technology; as well as establishing a flexible regulatory environment to facilitate investment in advanced technologies. 

The 2025 Leaders’ Summit also addressed important issues such as: green transformation and energy efficiency; encouraging investment in innovation, economic potential, digital inclusion and high-speed broadband in the region; the use of 5G infrastructure in the government sector with the help of telecom regulators to facilitate economic development; and strengthening consumer cybersecurity through artificial intelligence. 

The summit, attended by 20 regulators and representatives from various sectors, was organised by the South Asia, Middle East and North Africa Telecommunications Council (SAMENA) and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority of the United Arab Emirates (TDRA), with the aim of bringing together leaders in the electronic communications sector to discuss digital transformation opportunities in the region.
