ComCom Member Takes Part in EaPeReg Plenary Assembly

ComCom member Ekaterine Imedadze took part in the 23rd plenary assembly of the Eastern Partnership Electronic Communications Regulators Network (EaPeReg), and specifically in the session devoted to international relations. Ms Imedadze, who chaired EaPeReg in 2023, talked about the importance of relations between EaPeReg and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and the joint projects implemented and planned by the two organisations. 

The 23rd plenary assembly and workshops of EaPeReg dealt with the economic aspects of implementation of the Infrastructure Sharing Bill, discussed the network's activities in the first half of 2024, the reports of the network's expert groups, and the activities implemented within the EU4Digital project, which was initiated and supported by the European Commission. The assembly also approved plans for the second half of 2024, and nominated the 2025 chair and vicechair countries (Azerbaijan and Latvia respectively). 

During the workshops, participants discussed the Infrastructure Sharing Bill and the economic aspects of its implementation, as well as the Gigabit Infrastructure Act (GIA), including the experience of Romania on the regulation of physical infrastructure access tariffs, the Czech Republic on the issues of physical infrastructure access regulation, and Poland on the practical issues of dispute resolution.
