Communications Commission members Ekaterine Imedadze and Natia Kukuladze, along with other ComCom representatives, held important meetings with representatives of international organisations and the telecom sector at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) organised by the Groupe Speciale Mobile Association (GSMA). The aim of the meetings was to deepen international cooperation and help develop strategic projects. 

The topics discussed during the meetings in Barcelona included various areas of cooperation between the Communications Commission and GSMA, namely: involvement in sectoral research, capacity building, and Georgia’s potential to host regional events in the mobile communications and telecommunications sectors. Additionally, a cooperation agreement was established with the international research organisation Cullen International. 

MWC is the telecom industry’s largest event, counting more than 88,000 guests and participants this year. Topics of discussion at the 2023 event included the development of 5G and 6G technologies, digital transformation, and the role of technology in shaping a better future.
