Representative of the Department of Media Literacy Development of the Communications Commission Mariam Bibilashvili took part in the meeting of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Council Working group on Child Online Protection. Within the framework of the meeting, she presented the projects implemented by ComCom in the field of online protection of children. 

The Communications Commission aims to raise awareness about media literacy in society and develop the necessary skills for people to make informed choices in the digital age. “Our projects help students develop critical thinking skills, which will allow them to navigate the online space safely. Moreover, by providing teachers with resources and increasing their competence, we ensure the effectiveness of educational processes,” Ms Bibilashvili said, adding that the Commission also continues to actively inform parents about online threats to protect teenagers from potential harm. 

The International Telecommunication Union has developed an online safety guide for parents and teachers, which is available on the online media literacy platform of the Communications Commission.
