ComCom Presents the Initiative to Establish Georgia as a Digital Hub at the GSMA Forum

ComCom member Ekaterine Imedadze and Head of the International Relations Office, Nino Grdzelishvili, took part in M360 Eurasia Forum 2025 – an event organised by the Global System Mobile Association (GSMA) in Tashkent. During the event, the ComCom representatives also attended a workshop of the UK Telecommunications Academy (UKTA) on eliminating digital inequality.

During the session held within the framework of the GSMA Eurasia Forum, which focussed on encouraging mobile investments, Ms. Imedadze conducted a presentation and highlighted ComCom’s efforts to establish Georgia as a digital hub, as well as the decisions taken to liberalise the telecom market and strengthen competition: “The Communications Commission's goal is to be not only a regulator, but also a promoter and facilitator of digital transformation. We firmly believe that the successful future of mobile investment is based on active cooperation with the government, industry and the public. In addition, the introduction of advanced technologies should contribute not only to economic progress, but also to the involvement and empowerment of the society,” she stated.

The event was also devoted to such important issues as the development of artificial intelligence and 5G technology, stimulating innovation, economic potential and investment in the region, facilitating economic sustainability and creating a framework for eliminating digital inequality.

The forum was attended by more than 3,500 participants from nearly 100 countries, and served to share best practices and deepen collaboration among digital policymakers, regulators and industry representatives.
