ComCom Representative Takes Part in 74th Meeting of the European Audiovisual Observatory

Head of the IR Service of the Communications Commission Nino Grdzeishvili took art in the 74th meeting of the Executive Board of the European Audiovisual Observatory (EAO), which was devoted to the approval of the 2026 action plan and budget of EAO.

During the meeting, the EAO Executive Director and other representatives of the organisation presented the current activities of the Observatory, and reviewed the main priority areas and other organisational issues. The event also discussed the EAO reports on the analysis of audiovisual media services and market trends in Europe, the governance and financing models of public broadcasters, as well as the challenges of European audiovisual legislation. In addition, it was noted during the meeting that Norway will take over the chairmanship of the EAO Executive Board from 2027.

The European Audiovisual Observatory has been operating under the umbrella of the Council of Europe since 1992, analysing the facts and data in the European film, broadcasting and audiovisual industry. The organisation currently has 41 members. Georgia became a member in 2016, and is represented at EAO by the Communications Commission.
