ComCom Representatives Hold a Meeting with ARCOM and UNESCO on Media Literacy
Member of the Communications Commission Natia Kukuladze and Head of Media Literacy Department Mariam Dakhundaridze took part in the conference “To Educate or to Ban: Breaking the Impasse,” organised by the Liaison Centre for Education and Media Information of France (CLEMI). Within the framework of the event, ComCom representatives held a working meeting with the Director for International Cooperation and Head of Media Literacy Service of the French regulator ARCOM.
During the meeting, ComCom representatives received information about the media literacy policy of France and various educational projects, which will be important for the future activities of the Commission. In turn, representatives of the Commission shared information about the progress and successful projects implemented by ComCom in the field of media literacy.
The conference served as a platform for UNESCO and CLEMI to develop a guide for parents and families on how to address the challenges of the digital world. The event included discussions on important issues such as the approaches and challenges of raising teenagers in the digital age, strengthening online safety for young people, and more.
Within the framework of the the visit, representatives the Commission also held working meetings with the Head of the UNESCO Media and Information Literacy and Digital Competences Service, and the Programme Manager of the UNESCO Media Literacy Alliance.
During the working visit, the Communications Commission representatives met with the Ambassador of Georgia to France, Irakli Kurashvili.
