ComCom’s Head of Media Services Department Konstantine Koridze, Head of IR Services Nino Grdzelishvili and chief specialist of the legal group Tamar Khukhunaishvili took part in the 58^th annual meeting of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA) in Bucharest. The main topics of the meeting were the use of media and information for the public good and the future of content delivery. ComCom representatives informed their colleagues about the current situation in Georgia and the ongoing processes to bring the country’s legislation closer to the EU's audio-visual media services directive. 

The first themed session, titled “Media and Information for the Public Good,” was opened by EPRA Vice-Chairman Valentin Alexandru Jucan. Representatives of Romanian and Moldovan radio and TV broadcasters, Deutsche Welle Academy and Jagiellonian University discussed the formation of a reliable media market, the viability of media in the digital age, and media transparency. 

The topic of the second session, chaired by EPRA Vice-Chairman Stanislav Matejka, was the future of content delivery. Representatives of the European Audiovisual Observatory (EAO), British Regulatory Commission (Ofcom), Greek National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV) and the Dutch media regulator CvdM discussed new content delivery models, the need to adapt regulatory frameworks, as well as the experiences of regulators and the current challenges facing them. 

In addition to the themed sessions, the 58th meeting of the European Platform for Regulatory Authorities included brainstorming for the 2024-2026 strategy. Media experts, representatives of the European Commission, Council of Europe and European Audiovisual Observatory took part in the event alongside the representatives of media regulatory bodies.
