ComCom Shares its Best Media Literacy Development Practices with the Armenian MFA Delegation

The Communications Commission hosted a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia to share local practices and information about activities in the field of media literacy. The meeting was led by ComCom member Natia Kukuladze, Head of Media Literacy Department Mariam Dakhundaridze, and Head of IR Service Nino Grdzelishvili, who provided the guests with detailed information about the media literacy projects implemented in Georgia, and the results achieved thus far.

During the visit, special attention was devoted to the project to integrate media literacy into formal education, as well as the results achieved with regards to raising awareness about media literacy in Georgia through the Commission’s other projects. Another topic of discussion was the international cooperation in the field of media literacy, and specifically the annual UNESCO Media and Information Literacy Week, for which the Communications Commission holds various activities for students, teachers and parents each year.

From the Armenian side, the meeting was attended by representatives from the Media and Public Diplomacy Department and the Department for Bilateral Relations and Bordering Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The sharing of experience and best practices with fellow regulators, industry representatives and stakeholders is one of the main priorities for the Communications Commission.
