Communications Commission member Ekaterine Imedadze and Director General of the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority of UAE (TDRA), H.E. Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, signed a cooperation agreement to deepen the cooperation between ComCom and TDRA, and facilitate the sharing of experience. 

The memorandum was signed during the ITU World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23) in Dubai, where ComCom representatives learned about TDRA’s innovative digital management projects and strategic activities. Afterwards, the parties discussed the future cooperation priorities. 

The cooperation agreement covers issues such as the sharing of best regulatory practices in the field of electronic communications, the deepening of technical cooperation in communications, implementation of digital transformation projects, international cooperation, and the sharing of ICT knowledge and experience within the framework of the International Telecommunication Union. This is the first ever cooperation agreement signed by the Communications Commission with a country of the Gulf Region.

The Communications Commission prioritises the expansion of international partnerships, establishing close cooperation with fellow regulators and sharing best practices.
