ComCom Trains 600 Locals in Ambrolauri and Oni in the Use of the Internet

The Digital Support Programme of the Communications Commission has successfully concluded in te municipalities of Ambrolauri and Oni, where more than 600 locals were trained in over 50 seminars. With the help of specialists, the programme beneficiaries learned how to search for information, create and use e-mail, use Google Maps and Google Translator, share locations, use online communication tools and detect fake news.

Since 2022, more than 3500 citizens from 135 villages of the municipalities of Ozurgeti, Khelvachauri, Kobuleti, Chokhatauri, Samtredia, Ambrolauri and Oni have been trained as part of the Digital Support Programme. Apart from the training in the use of the internet, the programme included informational meetings about the internet user rights and the use of the state electronic auction platform. Participants included the representatives of municipal administrations and town halls, as well as local entrepreneurs and other stakeholders.

The Digital Support Programme is part of the Log-in Georgia project, which is co-funded by the World Bank and the European Investment Bank. It is being implemented to support the Georgian State Internetization Programme. The project aims to provide around 500,000 people in 1000 villages and rural settlements in Georgia with access to affordable high-quality internet services, as well as to help develop digital skills and facilitate the use of digital services.
