ComCom Trains IP Managers in Khoni in Media Literacy

Within the framework of the Digital Support Programme, the Communications Commission conducted a training for IP managers at the town hall of the Municipality of Khoni. The meeting concerned two of the main elements of the programme in the shape of digital literacy and safe use of the internet. More specifically, participants learned about important issues such as finding the desired information online, using Google applications and social platforms, etc.

The Digital Support Programme allows persons above the age of 14 residing in the target settlements to undergo training free of charge. The target villages of the programme in the Municipality of Khoni are: Akhalbediseuli, Dedalauri, Dzedzileti, Gamoghma Nogha, Khidi, Kveda Gordi, Satsulukidzeo, and Zeda Gordi. Up to 360 locals have been trained in the municipality so far, and this process is actively continuing. To register, interested parties can contact the digital ambassador of the programme on the following number: 555 74 28 48.

As part of the Digital Support Programme, more than 8,500 citizens from different regions in Georgia have been trained in digital literacy, safe use of the internet and the use of state electronic services since 2022.

The Digital Support Programme is part of the Log-in Georgia project, which is co-funded by the World Bank and the European Investment Bank. It is being implemented to support the Georgian State Internetization Programme. The project aims to provide around 500,000 people in rural settlements in Georgia with access to affordable high-quality internet services, as well as to help develop digital skills and facilitate the use of digital services.
