ComCom Trains the Students of Samtskhe-Javakheti State University and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University in Media Literacy
Within the framework of the memorandum signed with partner universities, the Communications Commission held a workshop on the subject of media literacy with students of Samtskhe-Javakheti State University and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The training was conducted by the representative of ComCom's Media Literacy Department, Mariam Gugulashvili.
The meeting discussed the importance of media literacy and its role in the modern world; the characteristics of disinformation and misinformation, as well as the goals and stages of their creation or dissemination; methods of disinformation and manipulative communication; propaganda, conspiracy theories, and their characteristics; AI and “Deepfake” in the context of creating fake news; as well as key stages of information verification.
In addition to the theoretical part, the meeting also included team exercises on information verification.
The Communications Commission, as the body responsible for the development of media literacy in the country, will continue to hold seminars with partner universities.
