ComCom Updates the National Radio Frequency Spectrum Allocation Plan

The 2022 activity report of the Communications Commission states that ComCom updated the National Radio Frequency Spectrum Allocation Plan in order to provide innovative services to users and promote the introduction of modern radio frequency systems in the country. The update is aimed at implementing modern electronic communication services and effective management of scarce frequency resources.

Specifically, the national plan includes new frequency bands for the development of new technologies, including 5G networks, and provides an additional frequency band for the operation of fixed wireless internet. In addition, ranges have been identified for specific satellite services, and technological standards and service types were specified.

The Communications Commission prepared the amendments to the national plan based on the final acts established by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) at the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-19), as well as on the basis of decisions made by the Electronic Communications Committee (ECC) of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT).
