Communications Commission Holds a Working Meeting With Latvian Electronic Communications Office Experts

The Communications Commission hosted experts from the Latvian Electronic Communications Office (ECO) to share best practices and experiences in managing the radio frequency spectrum monitoring system. The two-day visit took place as part of the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange (TAIEX) project funded by the European Commission. 

The aim of the working visit was to exchange best practices and experiences. During the meeting, ComCom representatives informed their Latvian colleagues about the current practices and procedures regarding fixed and mobile radio frequency spectrum monitoring in Georgia. The parties also discussed the existing challenges. Afterwards, the Latvian experts shared their own experiences with ComCom employees. 

Other topics discussed during the working meetings included the legal framework of frequency spectrum planning and monitoring, as well as the strategic development plans. The experts presented projects and plans on frequency monitoring and software. To demonstrate the activities in practice, ComCom representatives showed their Latvian colleagues the Shavnabada radio monitoring station.
