Communications Commission Introduces Pupils of School #55 to the “Happy Onlife” App

As part of its efforts to develop media literacy, the Communications Commission has introduced the pupils of School #55 to the internationally recognised “Happy Onlife” app. The III grade pupils learned how to use internet safely through the online app. Media literacy trainers explained the existing online threats in great detail. Pupils learned through games how to protect themselves from cyberbullying and safely navigate the internet. 

“Happy Onlife” is an online app for young people that aims to teach them how through games how to use digital media safely and responsibly, as well as to critically assess and analyse online content. The app has been successfully adopted in 9 EU countries. It helps parents and teachers to actively pursue the development of the children’s media literacy skills and protect them from cyberbullying. “Happy Onlife” is viewed as one of the most effective media literacy projects, which is available in 9 languages. The Communications Commission has created an adapted version of the app and translated it into Georgian language. It is available free of charge on iOS and Android mobile devices, as well as personal computers.           

“Happy Onlife” trainings were held in public schools across Georgia throughout 2021. Up to 1000 pupils in 50 schools received training by the end of the year.
