Communications Commission to Implement Joint Projects with Kutaisi International University

The Communications Commission and Kutaisi International University will implement joint projects in the fields of digital communication technologies and media literacy. Within the framework of the cooperation, the parties will share internationally recognised educational and scientific resources and hold training sessions, seminars and conferences for students and lecturers with the participation of local and international experts. Joint projects will also be implemented with the involvement of students in the fields of modern digital communication technologies and media literacy. As part of media literacy development, the Communications Commission and Kutaisi International University will also cooperate with regards to digital media products and media start-up projects, where the Media Lab of the Communications Commission will also play an important role. According to the agreement, the academic staff of the university will be involved in the media literacy hub developed by the Commission.

The cooperation agreement between the parties was signed at the Kutaisi International University during the visit of ComCom members, Ekaterine Imadedze and Natia Kukuladze, and other representatives of the Commission, who were hosted by the KIU Rector Aleksandre Tevzadze and Project Director of Cartu Foundation Vakhtang Tsagareli. The guests were shown the university infrastructure and learned about the curriculum. During the visit, representatives of the Communications Commission met with the academic staff and students and introduced them to the Commission's activities, projects and plans in the fields of telecommunications and media literacy. Furthermore,  the head of the Media Lab presented the Media Academy projects on media start-ups to the students  during the same meeting.
