Cooperation Agreement between ComCom and GNERC aims to Improve Services

The Communications Commission and the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) have signed a cooperation agreement to improve services, increase access and enhance quality in the regulated fields. The document was signed by the GNERC Chairman Davit Narmania and ComCom member Vakhtang Abashidze.

The aim of the agreement is for the two regulators to implement joint projects and increase efficiency in their respective fields, including key areas such as broadcasting, electronic communications, energy and water supply.

Cooperation between the Commission, GNERC and telecom companies has already resulted in the implementation of the social project *303#, which gives consumers easier access to information about utility services. By dialling *303# on their mobile phones, citizens can inform utility companies about faults in the electricity, natural gas or water supply systems, access electronic bills, check the current balance and verify payments.

The *303# service is free and available across the whole territory of Georgia. The service is accessible on all mobile phones and does not require internet access or downloading a special programme. The *303# service has already been used more than 3 million times.
