Maka Antidze Shares Her 30-Year Experience at Reuters in the New Media Academy Masterclass

The Media Academy of the Communications Commission presents a new series of online lectures by Maka Antidze, a journalist with 30 years of experience. For the past 25 years, she has worked at the Caucasus Bureau of Reuters as Head of the Bureau and Chief Correspondent. Earlier she was a correspondent for Associated Press.

Maka Antidze’s masterclass is available on the Media Academy YouTube channel from today. The series of 5 online lectures allows viewers to learn about the journalism skills required for preparation of news stories and articles. The course includes both biographical and practical topics.

Maka Antidze shares her lengthy experience and provides practical examples of composing an article, storytelling and coverage of emergency situations. The lectures show how journalists work on their stories and list the skills required by correspondents to prepare high-quality interviews.

The Media Academy of the Communications Commission began providing free online masterclasses in journalism in 2020, offering the opportunity to learn free of charge from successful professionals about the media, high-quality media product and everything else that a professional journalism may need. 

The first two cycles of the masterclass are composed of online lectures by 6 authors, including journalist Eka Beridze, playwright Basa Janikashvili, journalist Tamta Sanikidze, photo reporter Davit Mdzinarishvili, operator Davit Chkhikvishvili and media manager Giorgi Khaburzania. As of today, the Masterclass lectures have more than 1.1 million views in total.

The Masterclass is also notable for the fact that all online lectures are freely available to the public. This is a user-oriented platform that can be accessed at any time and from any location free of charge.
