The Advertising Revenues of TV and Radio Broadcasters Decreased to GEL 17.6 million in Q2 2025

The total commercial advertising revenues of TV and radio broadcasters in the second quarter of 2025 decreased by 12.1% year-over-year to GEL 17.6 million. TV broadcasters alone collected GEL 15.6 million in advertising revenues (13% less than in the previous year). 

Direct advertising accounted for 71.1% of the total advertising revenues in Q2 2025, sponsorship accounted for 17.7%, and product placement accounted for 11%. 

Once again, Teleimedi had the largest share of commercial TV advertising revenues in Q2 2025, despite its revenues decreasing by 10% year-over-year to GEL 5.4 million. The advertising revenues of Media Holding (Rustavi 2) also decreased by 10% and amounted to GEL 2.6 million. The revenues of PosTV increased by 15% to GEL 1.6 million. TV Pirveli posted the highest year-over-year increase of 52%, with a total revenue of GEL 1.6 million.  The revenues of Formula increased by 18% to GEL 1.4 million, while the revenues of BMG grew by 14% to GEL 1 million. The revenues of GDS TV remained the same at GEL 0.6 million. The revenues of Silknet increased by 33% to GEL 0.3 million. In the case of the Georgian Public Broadcaster, the advertising revenues decreased by 71% to GEL 0.2 million in the second quarter. The revenues of Silk Media remained unchanged at GEL 0.1 million. The total revenues of the remaining TV broadcasters amounted to GEL 0.9 million. 

The advertising revenues of radio broadcasters in the second quarter of 2025 decreased by 6% year-over-year to GEL 2.1 million, with direct advertising accounting for 89.5% of the revenues and sponsorship accounting for 10.5%. 

Commercial advertising revenues include adverts, sponsorship, product placement, teleshopping and commercial notices.
