TV Advertising Revenues increase by GEL 18.4 million in 2021

In 2021, commercial TV advertising revenues increased by 30% year on year to GEL 79.8 million, up from GEL 61.4 million in 2020. Thus, broadcasters collected GEL 18.4 million more in commercial advertising compared to the previous year. Commercial advertising revenues include income from commercial adverts, sponsorship, product placement, tele shopping and announcements. 

Teleimedi had the largest share of commercial TV advertising revenues in 2021 with 34.3%, followed by Mtavari Arkhi with 14.4%, Media Holding (formerly Rustavi 2) with 13.1%, TV Pirveli with 8.0%, Formula with 7.2%, POSTV with 5.7%, Silknet with 4.4%, GDS TV with 3.2%, the Georgian Public Broadcaster with 3.1% and RBG with 0.8%. All other broadcasters had a total share of 6% in the advertising revenues. 

As for the radio broadcasters, their total advertising revenues increased by GEL 0.4 million in 2021, totalling GEL 7.2 million. Radio Holding Fortuna accounted for the largest share in radio advertising revenues with 53.7%, followed by Radio Imedi with 9.8%, Georgian Radio with 5.4%, Radio Palitra with 5.2%, Radio Georgian Times with 3.9%, MD Group with 3.4%, Chveni Radio with 3%, Voice of Abkhazia with 2.7%, Mediastream with 2.6% and Hereti with 1.5%.  All other radio broadcasters accounted for a total of 8.3% of the advertising revenues.
