TV and Radio Broadcasters Collect GEL 16.4 million in Advertising Revenues in Q1 2025
The total commercial advertising revenues of TV and radio broadcasters in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 5% year-over-year to GEL 16.4 million. TV broadcasters alone collected GEL 14.8 million in advertising revenues (5.7% more than in the previous year).
Direct advertising accounted for 74% of the total advertising revenues in Q1 2025, sponsorship accounted for 14.8%, and product placement accounted for 10.8%.
Once again, Teleimedi had the largest share of commercial TV advertising revenues in Q1 2025. Its revenues increased by GEL 0.8 million year-over-year to GEL 6.1 million. The advertising revenues of Media Holding (Rustavi 2) remained the same at GEL 1.8 million. The revenues of PosTV increased by GEL 0.2 million to GEL 1.7 million, while the revenues of Formula grew by GEL 0.8 million to GEL 1.5 million. The revenues of TV Pirveli increased by GEL 0.4 million to GEL 1.2 million. The revenues of BMG and GDS TV remained the same at GEL 0.8 million and GEL 0.4 million, respectively. In the case of the Georgian Public Broadcaster, the advertising revenues increased by GEL 0.3 million to GEL 0.4 million in the first quarter. Silknet’s revenues doubled to GEL 0.2 million. As for Palitra News, their commercial revenues remained unchanged at GEL 0.1 million.
The advertising revenues of radio broadcasters in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 1.1% year-over-year to GEL 1.7 million, with direct advertising accounting for 89% of the revenues and sponsorship accounting for 11%.
Commercial advertising revenues include adverts, sponsorship, product placement, teleshopping and commercial notices.
