“Airuveda” Ltd applied to Georgian National Communications Commission and requested specialized broadcasting authorization for the purpose of creating cognitive/entertainment TV channel.

Georgian National Communications Commission started reviewing dispute based on the complaint submitted by K. Kaladze against “Magticom” Ltd by the resolution of 15 December 2016.

The memorandum of cooperation in electronic communications sphere was signed between Georgian National Communications Commission and Competition Agency of Georgia.

In accordance with the decision of GNCC, the validity term of №F36 and №F54 licenses for the usage of radio frequency spectrum has been prolonged for JSC “Global Contact Consulting” for the next 10 years.

“Maxnet” Ltd and “TV Net” Ltd have addressed GNCC with a joint statement. The companies have requested a prior consent from the Commission for the acquisition and merger of 100% of the shares by “Maxnet” Ltd owned by “TV Net” Ltd. 

GNCC has held a presentation of the final report of the media monitoring of pre-elections of the Georgian Parliamentary elections of 2016, at the hotel “Radisson.”

“TV-Company Stereo I” Ltd has addressed GNCC with a request to modify its broadcasting authorization. No impediments have been revealed during the simple administrative proceedings

The chairman of GNCC responded to an article published at the web-site of Kakheti’s informational Center. According to an article, the chairman of GNCC fails to indicate the facts of business involvement of his family members in the property declaration and violates legislation requirements regarding conflict of interests. 

GNCC has announced a contest for the issuance of a license to ensure digital terrestrial TV broadcasting for the usage of radiofrequency spectrum in the region of Guria based on an application submitted by NNLE“FREE Media Space.” NNLE“FREE Media Space” is the only participant. 

The head of GNCC’s informational-analytical department, Rati Skhirttladze will be leading the expert working group of International Telecommunication Union (ITU), who will be working on improvement of country’s information and communication technology development index (ICT)  and on counting methodology of ICT development index  (IDI).
