GNCC has issued a written warning on “TV-Radio Company Samegrelo” for violating the Georgian Law “on Broadcasting.”

In accordance to the decision made by GNCC, the private general radio broadcasting license of “Radio Art” Ltd has been modified into specialized (entertainment) radio broadcasting license.

In accordance to the decision made by Georgian National Communications Commission, “Georgian Media Networks” Ltd has passed an authorization for broadcasting.

The stations transmitting analogue terrestrial broadcasting signals in Samegrelo will be shut down on August 6, 2015, at 10 am. Samegrelo is the fifth broadcasting zone where analogue terrestrial broadcasting is being shut down. 

GNCC has issued a written warning upon NNLP “Non-profit Media Union Objective.”

GNCC has begun proceedings based on a complaint submitted by non-governmental organization “Center for Human Rights” against NNLP “Civic Development Fund”-also known as “Tabula”

The step-by-step shut down of analogue terrestrial broadcasting signal within Georgia has begun on July 1, 2015, and is set to be completed on August 1.

„PMCG“ Ltd has won in the contest announced for the procurement of consulting  services to ensure the reorganization-restructuring of the office of GNCC.

On July 18, 2015, an analogue terrestrial broadcasting signal will be shut down in Kutaisi, Tkibuli, Tsageri, Poti, Chokhatauri, Ozurgeti, Zestaponi Martvili, Samtredia, Khoni and Senaki, also, the drawbacks of analog television transmitters will be shut down around the territories of the municipalities of Abasha, Bagdadi, Vani, Zestaponi, Zugdidi, Terjola, Lanchkhuti, Martvili, Ozurgeti, Samtredia, Senaki, Tkibuli, Kobuleti, Chokhatauri, Tskaltubo, Kharagauli, Khobi and Khoni.

GNCC has executed the decision of the administrative panel of Tbilisi City Court and in accordance to the decision №403/10 made on June 21, 2013, “Broadcasting Company Hereti” was announced as a winning bidder in the contest for issuance of radio broadcasting license.
